Galroi beach is 7 kilometres northeast of Chios town, on the road to Kardamyla. The bay is a shelter for seagulls, and it was named after them (glaroi means seagulls).
It is a sandy seaside with a wild and unusual beauty, which attracts both locals and visitors. Its diaphanous green waters are very cold because there a stream of spring water from the mountain flows into the sea.
The beach bar often organises music gigs and parties, with lots of happenings, turning the beach into one of the summer hot spots of the island.
